I have a problem. I'm addicted to TV.
I realized this last night when The Biggest Loser got bumped for the presidential address. I was upset. Really upset. I was talking to the president on TV and everything. Telling him he's losing my approval because he bumped my show. David can attest that it was a pathetic moment.
So i decided that a change needs to be made. I don't think it's healthy to have a show nearly every night of the week. I have 3 shows that i watch weekly: Heroes, Lost and The Biggest Loser. I don't even like Heroes and Lost anymore. I'm completely disillusioned with them but i still watch them. It's a problem.
It's not usually this bad. I think that both David and I being sick and not being able to do anything other than watch TV has contributed to this breakdown. Usually we are much more active people. However, i still want a change. I need some other hobbies than watching TV. It's just not healthy.
Acknowledging the problem is the first step to recovery, right?

Spring?
The weather is beautiful here today! It's 59 degrees and sunny! Wonderful! Heavenly!
I walked home today to watch devotional with David. He's still sick :( The walk was great! I love when i can start feeling the sun again in the spring it's a great feeling!!! Sadly, i know this weather will not last for good yet but at least it's a nice glimpse!
The devotional, well actually it was a forum, was really good today. It was by Author Brooks and he talked about charitable giving and how when we give it makes us happier and less stressed and as a result more productive and prosperous. It was just cool to get his perspective on it. He's done studies and that's what it shows.
So if you want to be happier, healthier, and richer give! Give time. Give money. Give blood. Give something!

Update
I'm all better. I'm still on the antibiotics until Wednesday but I'm back to normal now. It's nice to be healthy. Sadly i have gotten both my roommate and David sick. Luckily they aren't as sick as i was, just annoying colds.
I had a dentist appointment today. 0 cavities!!! Yay!!! It rarely happens that i have no cavities so I'm celebrating this! I'm getting new retainers made before the wedding because mine are old and disgusting and i would be embarrassed for David to see them haha. So that will be nice.
I also have to go see a specialist about a skin graft for a problem area of my gums. Hate have receding gums!
Other than that things are just moving along. Life is good.

All bitter no sweet!!!
That's right, this was the worst weekend ever!!! Let me break it down for you...
Friday night: stayed at home and watched dumb chick flicks with David. He made me dinner and i wasn't too sick yet.
Saturday AKA Valentines day: Didn't do anything we planned to do. The cold i thought i was getting was actually the flu. So i took gross Theraflu and stayed at home trying to keep my fever down and dealing with the aches and pains and shakes that come with the flu. We had frozen pizza for dinner, it was good.
Sunday AKA the bottom: I got up and got ready for church but then i started feeling really gross right before so i stayed home. I took some more theraflu and drank 7-up and ate some saltine crackers. Then after David got back that's when things started going downhill fast. I lost everything i ate/drank that morning and from that point on couldn't keep anything down, not even water. Horrible!!! Along with that my fever just kept rising. The highest it got was 103.3, pretty high. I couldn't take any meds because i couldn't keep it down so i try to get my fever down with wet wash cloths and a cool shower. Didn't work. So eventually we decided to go into the ER so that i could get an IV and get my fever down. I didn't think it was anything other than the flu so i kind of felt like a pansy going to the ER but it turned out to be a good thing. After waiting 2 hours to see the doctor i went back and got an IV started and got some anti-nausea meds and Tylenol and Advil. I also had an x-ray of my lungs taken to make sure there wasn't anything else wrong. Turns out there is something wrong. I have pneumonia! At least i wasn't a pansy for going into the ER! The IV helped a lot and i got hooked up with a bunch of drugs, an anti-nausea, Tylenol 3, and the antibiotic for the pneumonia. We got home around midnight and went to bed.
Today: it's been good. I've been taking my meds and two of them make me tired so I've been sleeping all day. It has been wonderful! I feel a million times better than i did yesterday! My fever is completely gone. I'm actually at 96 something now. The pressure in my head is gone and i can keep food down again! Modern medicine is amazing!!! 100 years ago i would have died from this but I'm fine now! Spectacular!!!
Tomorrow: I'm staying home from work and resting some more. I'll probably sleep most of the day because of the meds again. Hopefully I'll be good enough to head back to work on Wednesday but we'll see. If not i have the sick time.
PS Even though this weekend sucked so much David was great! He took care of me the whole time and watched dumb chick flicks! So romantic!
PPS I don't understand bulimia! How could anyone want to throw up even if there is a motive for it. totally not worth it! It's so painful and then you get a sore throat afterward because of all the acid not cool! I never want to throw up again ever!!! If i get sick when I'm pregnant I'm not risking it again. We'll adopt after that. haha! We'll see.

Bittersweet!

I woke up this morning to a scratchy throat that has just gotten worse throughout the day. The past hour or so the chills have started settling in. I think I'm getting a cold and a bad one from the early signs. Definitely bittersweet!
Bitter because it's a long weekend. Who wants to be sick on a long weekend, especially when that weekend includes fun Valentine's plans?
Sweet because since it is a long weekend there's more time to relax and get better before heading back to work!

Best work request ever!!!!!!!!
This is what i got today from one of those "special" (aka pain in the rear) professors...
"What time is it?"
Sounds reasonable until you take into consideration that there is a large clock on the wall across from my desk. Can you not tell time? Are you really that lazy? And we're paying you to teach the people who will teach our children? Home schooling sometimes sounds really good considering the things you learn behind the scenes. Wow!!!
Best part...after i looked at the clock and gave him an answer he looked at it himself. You ask me a stupid question and then don't trust me with the answer i give you? Or are you trying to learn how to tell time yourself and want to memorize what the clock looks like at 10:10? Really?
So what are the most ridiculous requests you've had at work?

Quote of the day...
"I throw babies."
A statement by my coworker, referring to tossing babies in the air, which is, according to my boss, very very dangerous for babies (kills brain cells).
Cracked me up!!! Just the matter-o-fact way he said it was great!

Would you rather..
This was kind of interesting and i'm bored haha.
1. Know exactly when you're going to die, OR exactly how?
(I would rather know exactly how. I think knowing when would depress me too much but i guess you wouldn't be worrying about it .)
2. Be financially set for life--but never be able to travel outside the U.S., OR be financially set for life--but never be able to set foot back inside the U.S?
(I have no idea. I want to travel everywhere but i really would like to come back home too! That being said i think i would go with never being able to come back to the US.)
3. Never get to watch TV shows again (including on the internet or DVD), OR never get to watch another movie again (including internet/DVD)?
(It think i'd go with Movies. Just because. No real logic behind this one.)
4. Be the sole survivor of a plane crash or shipwreck on a deserted island--with no hope of ever being rescued, OR be one of the people who dies in said crash/shipwreck?
(Die, if it was painless and quick. I don't really like to be alone.)
5. Give up the internet for a week, OR give up your car for a month.
(Give up the internet. I'm just not an internet junkie. I'm on it all day just because i'm at work but i rarely go on at home or on the weekend.)
6. Have a demanding job that you really don't like--but will earn you more money than you could ever want within 15 years, OR work at a job you absolutely love for the rest of your life--and have to live paycheck-to-paycheck?
(Demanding job. It's worth the security. Then in 15 years i'd get a job i liked.)
7. Be absolutely brilliant--but very average looking, OR be absolutely gorgeous--but only have average intelligence?
(Be brilliant. Average isn't bad looking it's just not super model. i think i'm pretty average now so not much would change other than my brilliance level :)
8. Live in an inner-city apartment for the rest of your life, OR live in the country at least 1/2 mile away from your nearest neighbor for the rest of your life?
(The country. I like the space. And you can always go into town whenever.)
9. Never get to eat ice cream ever again--but always stay slim and fit, OR eat ice cream whenever you want--but gradually gain weight until you are a fat old person, regardless of how much you exercise?
(I could go without ice cream.)
10. Lose your passport/wallet/money/all identification while traveling overseas, OR have your computer crash just before finals or a big presentation?
(Computer crash. I would freak out if i lost all that stuff in another country!!!)

Dying of sleep deprivation
3 Hours just doesn't cut it. The culprit: Caffeine

I had too much at Sukie and Wudan's last night. Usually it doesn't affect me too much but sometimes it will keep me up all night. That's what happened last night. Although, watching "Crash" didn't help either.
My night consisted of trying to sleep on the couch. Watching the food network, iron chef. and trying every other possible thing to get me to sleep. Obviously nothing much worked.
Hopefully I'll get back to normal tonight and get to sleep well.
