Warning, broken girl!

I went to the doctor for my hip :( Yes I know that I said I was going to go earlier but then it stopped hurting. Unfortunately, my hip didn't stay better. I haven't been running and I've only been climbing and walking to and from school. Well, last weekend David and I took a long walk around a neighborhood and that did it, my hip started hurting again and David said that I had to go to the doctor.

I went yesterday and as I suspected the nurse practitioner said that it sounds like my hip is inflamed and that I'm just not giving it enough time to heal. So she gave me a prescription for Naproxin (sp) and told me to not do anything for two weeks. No running, no climbing, no nothing :( I'm quite depressed. She said that after the two weeks then I can start up, slowly, running and climbing again. So I guess that's good.

The bad news is that I am kind of skeptical. I think that once I start running again that it's going to get aggravated again. If that happens then I have to go back and get an X-ray and do physical therapy. Not cool! So I'm an invalid again. It's funny because I'm worried that even walking to school is going to stop it from healing all the way. But what can I do? I have to go to school and work and even if I drove there is still the hill to climb!

Where's a cop when you need one?

Yesterday I was driving home and had the most ridiculous road encounter of my life.... I have to turn left at a light to turn on to my street to get home. I waited with a couple other cars in front of me until the end of the light. The two cars in front of me made it on that light but by the time it was my turn the light had turned yellow and, like the good driver that I am :), I decided to just wait for the next light (it's not a long light so no big deal). Well, the idiot behind me was not interested in waiting. He swerved around me into the oncoming traffic lane and ran the red light to make the left. I honked at him because he's an idiot endangering everyone around him. Well his response to that was to stop in the middle of the road for a good 30 seconds and flip me the bird. Like I care, it was his fault. Unfortunately I didn't think to take down his license plate while he was "giving me what I deserved". Man if I could go back I would totally get his plate number and make a citizen's arrest :) Haha. Just more proof that the world is full of idiots and we are lucky everyday when we aren't killed by one on the road. There are some real winners in Utah :) Get off the road jerkface!

Bored?

This week has been interesting. I finished finals on Saturday so I have had nothing but work this entire week. I must admit, it has been nice to not worry about classes and homework but I also am a little lost and confused without my normal schedule. I really shouldn't complain because come next week I will be busy again with classes and homework. It's just strange to have no set schedule. This whole week I have thought that it was a different day just because I have no set schedule to guide me. As much as I'd like to be spontaneous and just do whatever I realize that I am a person that needs a schedule wow!

Finals Make Me Feel Like This... :( As do High Schoolers

I usually am not the type of person who gets extremely stressed out about finals. I work hard throughout the semester so that my grade doesn't rest solely on my final. I do this because I hate stress and I really don't handle it well. When I am really stressed out I tend to make myself physically sick.

This semester has been a little more stressful than usual but I haven't been feeling too stressed
about final. Well at least that's what I thought. Today I had my first final. Last night I went home early so that I could get a good nights sleep. My hopes were crushed when I woke up sometime in the middle of the night (I didn't look at the clock) with a stomach ache. I couldn't go back to sleep for at least an hour.

Once I finally did get back to sleep I had this horrible dream that I missed my final (the one I had today) and that I was going to be late for the one on Saturday. This dream haunted me through the rest of the night, making it absolutely impossible to get any decent rest. Go figure huh?!

Hopefully I can get myself to sleep through the night tonight but even if I can't finals will be over tomorrow and I will once again be able to sleep easy, at least for 8 weeks until finals come around again.

On a lighter note, I realized again how happy I am that I am no longer a high schooler and that I do not have to associate with them in large numbers.

I went to sell back my books yesterday and I had to go and stand in a very long line. There were two routes to get to the end of this line and I decided to take the less obvious option, trying to beat some other girls to the end of the line. I did beat them but not without a little suffering. The path that I chose just happened to be taken over by high schoolers who were visiting for the day.

I have made a couple of realizations about high schoolers:
1. They are loud and they have to be constantly talking or else they must explode or something.
2. They have no consideration for others. I unfortunately happened to be going the opposite direction as these kids and not one of them moved out of my way. I had to push my way through the crowd bumping teenagers on my way. Also, not one said "oh excuse me", in stead, I got a couple of evil stares because I wouldn't get out of their way. Not cool.

And I thought freshman were bad.

I'm Falling Apart

For a 23 year old I have some strange physical issues. The most recent has to do with my hip, yes my hip, no I am not 60 I am 23. About 2 weeks ago I woke up and my hip was very stiff and it was slightly painful to walk and pretty painful to climb stairs. I didn't think much of it though. I'm pretty active, I run and climb consistently, so I'm used to the occasional aches and pains of an active life. I did as little as I could to agitate my hip and in a couple of days it got better. By the beginning of the next week I started running again without any thought to my hip issue of the week before. The first day I was fine. The second day, on the other hand, was not a pleasant experience. I started running and didn't really notice anything. By the time I was halfway through with my run I was feeling some discomfort but I just attributed it to the aches of starting running again.

An hour later, after I had gotten all ready for the day, I realized that the hip issue was back and worse than before. By the end of the day I could hardly make it up the 5 stairs to my apartment. Not cool! So again I stayed off it for a few days and it got better. I had even decided to give it about a week to make a full recovery before I started running again. But apparently my body no longer wants me to run.

Yes, a few short days later and I am once again dealing with the hip issue. It isn't as bad as the first or second time but it is noticeable. I'm not too happy about it because it really interferes with my lifestyle and, more than that, it makes me feel OLD!
So I've decided to go see the doctor (not one of my favorite things) to see if they can fix my hip. I'm not looking forward to it at all. I know this is just me being paranoid but I really don't want a hip replacement :)

More to come on my falling apart body after the doctor's appointment next week.

Who knows maybe I'll have to go through some kind of torturous physical therapy like this lady! She seems happy though, at least life isn't all downhill :)

Kitchen Etiquette

So living with roommates is always interesting. Nearly always there are different ideas about how to do things and who should do them. This is especially true when it comes to cleanliness in the kitchen. My roommate experience this year has been no different than in the past. Different ideas with minor conflict arising from those disagreements. I'll share some general complaints as well as my personal pet peeves.

The main conflict is dishes. People either don't do them at all or do them all the time. This works out great for the people who never do dishes but not so great for the people who are always stuck doing them. It's kind of ridiculous when people will put their dishes in the sink when the dish washer is dirty.

Another dish problem is that of leaving dirty crusty pans in the sink without even rinsing them out. I personally don't mind loading other people's dishes but I will not scrub crusty pans that i haven't used. And it's not like people are coming back to clean their pots later, they just sit and sit.

My newest pet peeve is when people leave organic waste (apple core, lettuce, bread) on their plates. I feel that there is no excuse for this, the garbage is right below the sink. I came home earlier this week to find this scene, a bunch of dishes soaking and then apple lettuce and bread sitting in the water too. I didn't appreciate it. I talked to my roommates about it and the culprit said "Well there's the garbage disposal, they go down that". Yes I am aware that organic waste can do down the disposal but if you're going to do that, do it right when you finish your meal, don't let it sit for and entire day!

The final issue that I would like to address is that of the garbage. We keep our garbage beneath the sink. It fills up pretty quickly but it doesn't get taken out nearly as much as it should. Often I open the cupboard to throw something away to find that the garbage can has become the garbage cupboard. Disgusting! I took out the trash last week and not only was there a bags worth of garbage in the can, there was also a bags worth in the cupboard.

Those are just a few of the issues that we have in my apartment. It always keeps things interesting. There is no one person to blame and I am definitely not perfect but it would be so nice to have some common ideas on what is acceptable and what is not. Oh well I guess that is life. No matter what stage I'm at I'm sure that I'll have differing ideas of how things should be done. So really I should thank my roommates, they are helping me get accustom to life :)

Anger Issues?

All of you who know me well know that I'm not a very confrontational or angry person. I usually just try to let things roll off my back. Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of things that annoy me and sometimes I have to vent but I rarely yell, get cranky, or hold grudges. You wouldn't think this about me though if you could see into my dreams recently.
For about the past two weeks I have been having very angry dreams pretty consistently. The first one was just random, me getting mad and yelling at a grocery store clerk. But now they are starting to involve my friends and it's kind of strange. For the most part I'm not mad (in real life) at the people in my dreams so it really makes no sense that I would be so mad. But dreams don't make sense.
Now I'm just concerned that I'm supressing things that I should be dealing with in my real life and therefore they are manifesting themselves in my dreams, very Freudian I know but it's possible. So I guess I'm asking if I'm abnormal or if this is a common occurance for other people too? Do you have angry dreams? :) Maybe I'm just a little bit paranoid but it's an interesting subject all the same.

For Brad

So I heard that Brad said that this blog should be the David Fan Club blog or something like that. So Brad, this one's for you.

I love David! He's just the best guy ever. He's so cute and funny and sweet. He always makes me smile and makes me happy when I'm sad. I love taking walks with him and cuddling on the couch with him. I love being dorks together. Pretty much he's just the best thing ever and I'm going to keep him.

Sorry Brad, I can't be that cheesy for any longer. Yes I love David. No this blog is not the David Fan Club.
