Stupid Animals and Stupid People

I almost got in a wreck the other day because of a dumb, suicidal dog. I was on my way home and this dog ran right out in front of the car in front of me. So that car slammed on its brakes and I had to slam on my brakes. (Luckily I got the deluxe oil change last week and got my brake fluid all topped off.) No accident so far. Then I checked my rear view mirror, I was scared but yes the mini-van also managed to stop without hitting me. It was close. Then of course the idiot behind me starts honking like it's my fault. Then he changes lanes and speeds away. Idiot.

The next stupid thing is the new drama going on in my apartment. Well it was drama for the two days that it was warm and now the drama is dormant because of the cool weather but I'm sure that once things heat up again so will apartment tensions. I have this roommate who apparently wants the AC on 24/7. Now it gets hot in Utah during the day, this I admit, but none of us are home during the day so why cool an empty house. And at night it's bearable, even on the hottest days so why waste money when we can just open the windows and get a nice breeze. The other stupid thing is that AC to this roommate doesn't mean 70-75 degrees, it means 60. Seriously?! So that's the next drama that will unfold as the summer progresses. I just keep telling myself "3 more months". I can make it. Then it will be on to more interesting and exciting new roommate adventures next year. Why wouldn't everyone want to live the single life forever?!

The Best News EVER!!!!

It's been forever since I've posted but at least I have some great news to restart my commitment to blogging!

David proposed!!! Haha. Just kidding....had you going there for a second huh Wudan? Sorry I guess you'll still have to wait on that pedicure :)

The real great news is that one of my companions from my mission wants to live with me next year!!! I won't have to move in with random people that I don't know....hopefully. It's still up in the air (she hasn't signed a contract or anything yet) but I'm still really excited. That would be the best thing ever! I'm really hoping that it works out.

Another piece of great news from today is that I avoided a financial mishap haha.... well I guess altered would be a better way to put it.

I checked my bank account this morning and was shocked to see that I was $2 in the hole, not good. That's what happens when you send out a check and forget about it, oops. I know that this doesn't sound like good news but I caught my little mistake before the transactions had cleared and I had been charged the stupid overdraft or something. So I was able to transfer some money from my savings to my checking to bail myself out until Friday (payday) and avoid evil extra charges. The bank will not make money off of me!! :)

So yes, today has been quite a happy day with lots of good news and excitement!

1. What were you doing 10 years ago?

Hmmm...I was 13. I probably wasn't doing anything exciting. I maybe had a crush on this boy TJ but that might have been the year before. Every weekend I would have a sleepover with my best friend. We would buy candy and magazines and watch chick flicks, normal 13 yr old stuff :)

2. Five things on my "To Do List" today:

1. Read the paper (it probably won't be that good)
2. Get some reading done for a book report.
3. Work on my Sunday school lesson.
4. Maybe work on a take home practice test.
5. Go to bed relatively early.
(yeah my life gets really boring when David is not here! )

3. Snacks I enjoy:

I enjoy snacks. I love all fruit although strawberries are my favorite. I love Cheese-its (I probably spelled that wrong). I love oreos and milk. Mallow magic. Lots of things :)

4. What would I do if suddenly I was a billionaire?

I don't think much would change except that I would never have to worry about money again. I would still finish school and work. I would buy a nice house and live like a normal person.

5. Three bad habits:

1. I worry all the time.
2. I'm really hard on myself.
3. I forget to wash my sheets for months on end (gross I know but don't worry I shower every day :)

6. Five places I've lived:

Michigan
Provo Utah
Senegal (kind of. it was only 7 weeks but I'll count it)
Alaska (again only for 4 weeks)
Spain (for 14 months- this one really counts)

7. Five jobs I've had:

1. Paper girl
2. Bakery worker :)
3. Cashier
4. Grounds crew for 7 peaks
5. Secretary

8. Five things that people don't know about me:
This is a dumb one. And by dumb I mean hard. Carolyn pretty much knows everything about me so I guess I'll do 5 things that no one but Carolyn knows. Even that is hard, I'm kind of an open book. Ummm...

1. When I get mad at someone I get really quiet instead of angry.
2. One place I would never want to live is Alaska. (you are so isolated from everything and you are sitting on fault lines. Pretty much one day you're going to die)
3. I am really stupid when it comes to computers...really dumb. Once something is explained to me I'll remember but I just can't figure things out on my own. (not really uncommon knowledge but whatever)
4. When I was a teenager I thought that if I wasn't married by 21 I would be such and old maid and I would never get married. (Time will tell on this one :)
5. I love rap music!

So like I said I'm a pretty open book. I'm sure that more people than Carolyn know this stuff but I really couldn't think of anything else.

Tag 5 People:
I tag Carolyn, Brooke, Christina, MJ, Theorb. Have fun :)

Fun!

Yes I know, 2 posts in one day, I'm either very ambitious, full of exciting news, or just really bored at work....take a guess :)

I went to physical therapy last night. It was awesome! Awesome for two reasons.
1. They think they might know what's wrong with me. (Either some cartilage that is irritating the area or I tore something up there that is like a meniscus. Neither are great things but at least it's not a mystery anymore)
2. I got to work out a little. (Just stretches, some strengthening exercises, and the bike but hey that it way better than the nothing that I've been doing for about a month.)
3. Ok so there is another reason....they said that I can rock climb again! Yay! My life is once again complete :)

I feel like it was a productive visit and I'm looking forward to next week. The sad thing about all of this is that I've decided to give up running forever. Sad I know but they think that the impact from running is what messed me up in the first place so I guess I'll keep myself safe and give it up. It's ok I guess. I'll just start getting into swimming and biking. I'm sure once I start they will be equally rewarding. And hey, I've always got rock climbing!

How to get a job.

www.ctdol.state.ct.us/youth/interviewing.htm

I'm starting a new job next month. Well, by starting a new job I means switching desks and getting paid more plus benefits for doing the same thing I do now, only full time, exciting I know :) The girl that works full time at my job is having a baby in a month and I'm going to take her place. I'm pretty excited, mostly for the pay increase and the benefits. Like I said, the job is pretty much the same.

The great thing about this job switching experience for me is that I pretty much have the job in the bag without having to do anything for it. I had to apply but I didn't put too much time into my resume or cover letter or anything because I've already been promised the job. I don't even have to interview for it. Can't get better for me right?

The flip side is that it kind of sucks for the other 27 applicants that actually put some time and effort into their applications. It really sucks for the 3 applicants that my boss is interviewing for show. The only reason that there are any interviews at all is to make it look ethical. Totally lame. So these poor girls are getting all dressed up and putting on the best interview they can just to be turned away, thinking that they did something wrong when really it's just that I'm getting preferential treatment. They don't even have a chance. I feel kind of bad for them. We really shouldn't be interviewing anyone if the job is already promised.

But hey, you've gotta know someone to get anywhere in the work world right? I'll just tell myself that. Hopefully these girls didn't need the job too badly. Hopefully they won't be too heartbroken. Hopefully they won't find out what's going on and come in and kill me off after they find out :)

Babe

I think that the word "Babe" is hilarious. Especially when used by a girl toward another girl. I understand that it's a pet name for cutesy little couples to call each other. That kind of makes sense to me, call each other whatever you want I guess. I just think it's kind of strange to call another girl "babe" or "hun". Don't know why I think it's so strange, I just do. It makes me smile every time a friend calls me "babe"; not because I like it but because it amuses me. "Babe". Really? Am I a little child, a pig from an obnoxious children's movie, a great baseball player or your boyfriend? Didn't think so. Oh well, I guess everyone is "babe" to someone :)

So tired!

That just looks like heaven to me! This week has been crazy, as all first weeks of school are. It doesn't help that I'm on a new work schedule too and I have to be there at 8am everyday. It's hard to get up at 6:30!

6:30 really isn't that bad, I'm a morning person anyway. The problem is that the moment I step out of bed I don't stop for a second until I get back in it around 11-12pm. This week has been really fun but crazy! There has been something right after work everyday this week. It will be nice to be able to relax a bit next week, try to get ahead in my class work, and maybe, just maybe catch up on some sleep. That would be divine!

I'm going to start my relaxation tonight by not going to Ikea (sorry Carolyn) and instead taking a short trip to Tmobile to get David's phone fixed and then relaxing in the hot tub. After that maybe I'll pass out on the couch but most likely there will be something more exciting to do. Thus is life, no?
