Never again..........really this time...

So remember my enemy caffeine? Well i caved. I had been off caffeine for over 2 months and then Sam brought cherry doctor pepper to fakesgiving. I thought OK it's only 6 so i can drink one glass and I'll be fine. Not so. I was up until 2 am. caffeine, you may have won the battle but i will win the war! Seriously, I'm never drinking caffeine ever ever ever again!!!

Awesome weekend...no pictures

This weekend was full of excitement. I had my bridal shower on Saturday. Carolyn and Amy threw it for me. It was awesome! My biggest fear was that no one would show and that would confirm that I'm a friendless loser. Happily that confirmation will have to wait for another occasion because plenty of my awesome friends showed up. Thanks for coming all! It was great to see everyone and hang out.

Carolyn made an amazing lunch. It was a bajio/cafe rio pulled pork salad. It was amazing! It was so close to the actual thing! Amy made the cutest cupcakes with white chocolate lilies on them. They tasted like delicious oreos!

I received some awesome "date night" gifts. We're excited use everything that we got. Some of the things we were given were a fondue pot and chocolate, a popcorn make, breakfast muffin mixes and a cupcake tin and bundt pan, a cooler and Frisbee with picnic recipes. You get the picture. Everything was awesome. It was a great day! Thanks again!

Sunday we had Fakesgiving part 2.

I bought a turkey a long time ago, right after thanksgiving and have been trying to make time to make it ever since. Well this weekend it worked out.

David and i made the turkey. Carolyn and Frik brought apple pie and salad. Sukie and Wudan brought potatoes, sweet and regular mashed and Sam brought drinks. It was a fantastic dinner. the turkey was great and for being not even 10 pounds it fed us all fine and we have tons of left overs.

We also played a new favorite game, the great Dalmudi (Djibouti). It was a fun night and nice to spend time with the whole gang.

Recent Excitement

We went to the Manti temple last Saturday to check it out. Since we're getting married there in 33 days and neither of us had been before we thought it would be a good thing to do. It is the most beautiful temple I've been to. We're both so excited we chose to be married here!

We decided that we'll get dinner in Ephraim (8 miles away) because they have a Chinese place and a Mexican place. Manti has just about nothing. I love small towns :)

Yesterday we went shopping to get a few wedding things (no the moose* is not one of them). While shopping we passed this moose that was outside an outdoors store (*David continues to tell me it's an elk and i believe him but i think the word moose is more fun) and i decided to get up and get a picture on it. Awesome huh?!

Some ducks waddled over to make our outing even more outdoorsy. David got these great shots. :)

Nothing too exciting but fun times!

Yes a 75% on my Bio 100 midterm. Never been happier with a 75% in my life. I was taking the test thinking, "If i get a 70% I'll be happy." Haha. Senioritis. Sweet. Only 31 days until graduation!!!

When it's hard to be nice...

I'm sure that most of you know that i am a pretty sarcastic/cynical person when i want to be. Well David is too. We often talk about how stupid something is that a random person is doing. (Examples to come) Well last night we were talking and decided that we wanted to work on being nicer. (I've been trying to be nicer to the students that come in to ask questions at work and it's been going pretty well so far so how hard can it be to be nicer to everyone?) We're nice to each other and our friends but when it comes to people we don't really know or care about we can be jerks. So we make our little resolution to start being nicer and curb the sarcasm/cynicism. We said goodnight and went to bed.

David came over to get me this morning and we headed up to campus. We drove because i have an appointment today in the middle of the day (getting the stitches out!!! yay!!!) Well we got on to campus and we driving our usual route looking for a parking spot. At one point there was a large truck (like some service vehicle) parked halfway in our lane and halfway on the side walk. Our instant reaction was "Thanks idiot! What kind of a retard parks halfway in the street when there are parking spots reserved especially for him?!" We continued driving, looking for a spot, usually these are hard to come by. I saw one in the parking lot for my building, i was so pumped, right then someone pulled in to it. My reaction: "I hate you! Who are you so that i can hate you and make your life miserable (i schedule classes so actually do have a little power in that department, wouldn't actually try to make someones life miserable but still)." We continued on and got a decent parking spot. David was walking me to my office before he headed to class. There was a dump truck picking up the trash. He had to back partway into the street so that the dumpster wouldn't hit the tree above him. Well some other truck driving down the street honked at him and David and my reaction was "Shut up! The guy's just doing his job. What kind of a jerk are you?!"

At this point we both remembered our resolution. I said "We're not doing too good at being nicer are we? We've been together this morning for 10 minutes and we've already cursed 3 people." Apparently this will take more work than we thought. Good story though right?

Ok remembered something blog-worthy...

When i came into work one morning last week at 7:55am this huge fan was not here. 5 minutes later at 8am the custodians brought it in. It was so loud we couldn't hear our phones and wouldn't have answered them even if we could have. Apparently there was a wet spot but it wasn't that bad. So we got blown away for an hour. We had to yell to hear someone 4 feet away. Ridiculous.

Thanks custodians for bringing the fan up at 8 am right when we all get here to work. I know you couldn't have possibly brought it up at say 5 am when you start work. It's not like you have a key to our office or anything. I understand.
