Happy Spring

I was not so happy this morning when i saw that it had snowed overnight but the snow has melted so I'll be thankful for that. It's still a little chilly but i can handle that. This is our cherry tree that we got and planted last week. We've been wanting to plant fruit trees since before we bought out house and when we saw cherry trees at Costco for $15 we couldn't pass it up. This cherry is a hybrid that has 4 different kinds of cherries that will grow on it. They grafted branches from different varieties of cherries onto one tree and voila we should be getting 4 kinds of cherries from this tree. We'll let you know how it goes in the next few years as it begins producing a bit.

We have some signs of spring. The tulips that i planted last fall are starting to poke out of the ground a bit. I love them because they'll be so pretty and because they're a little reminder that spring is really coming.

Spring also means that we're one season closer to getting this little boy here. When summer hits I'll be a couple weeks away from my due date so spring marks the "better get things put together before this little boy comes" season. We did a lot of cleaning and purging of unnecessary stuff yesterday. We broke down the futon that was in the baby's room and moved it downstairs along with a bunch of other stuff we were storing in the babies room. We're not done yet, obviously, but we're getting closer. This is the dresser and crib we have. The dresser was David's dad's growing up so it's kind of fun to keep it in the family (with some updated hardware:). The room is going to get some color in the coming weeks but we decided that less is more when it comes to paint and instead of painting the whole room we're going to paint a few bright stripes and call it done.

Awww, isn't it so cute? I keep peeking in everyday just to look at it. We're having a baby soon. David felt him for the first time this week and we saw him kick today at church. It definitely is getting more real by the day. And we're getting more excited.
I did not get his quilt finished because I'm having a tension issue with my sewing machine and i couldn't figure out what was wrong last Wednesday so i gave up for a few days. I suppose I should try to fix it again so I can work on projects again. I've played with the tension wheel thing and I've looked at the bobbin, which seemed a bit tangled so i unwound it and rewound it but it didn't help. Anyone have any suggestions on how to fix tension?
