Correct, I quit my job last week. There were various reasons that i won't get into here. I was only planning on working through the end of April anyway so it was only a month early.
All that being said, it's pretty strange to be home all day every day. Being an at home wife was something i never planned to be and being an at home mom was something i am looking forward to but that intimidates me at the same time. It's very nice to be able to keep the house clean and work on my crafty projects more but i can't help but feel that I'm not contributing too much to the family. I know that's not really true, and don't worry David tells me that's not true too but i can't help but feel it. Hopefully in the next few weeks I'll fall into more of a routine and get used to this staying at home thing.
Until then do you have any suggestions on what to do with my abundance of time? Books you'd recommend? Things you keep busy with? I have a few projects that are contingent on the weather so once that stabilizes I'll get outside a bit more. I also love the projects I've done sewing but i find my pregnant body can only take about half a day of sitting in a hard chair cutting, sewing, ironing etc. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

I have a bunch of Pyrex to ship out if you want to help me. lol
You'll be a great mom :)
Go meet David for lunch. Zach and I try to meet up a couple times a month and it is the highlight of our week!
Good luck on the last few weeks of pregnancy!
1. Get up with David and see him off to work. If you can go back to sleep afterwards, do it. And sleep in as long as you can. Gotta stoke up for those nights you're going to be lacking.
2. Do a load of laundry every day. Some days it'll be whites, some days it'll be colors, some days it'll be towels and sheets. But you'll never be behind, and you'll always have stuff all folded up. There's just something really satisfying about a hamper that's nearly empty.
3. Do your sewing and crafting projects till your hiney is too sore to continue.
4. Make a good dinner for David to come home to. You'll definitely feel like you're contributing, and when you're pregnant NO ONE will cook for you the way you will yourself, and no one's cooking will taste better. Plus you'll have good leftovers to send with David for lunch and good things to eat yourself the next day. Make good use of the bread machine.
In between all this is stuff like watching movies, going to the library, shopping for good deals on baby clothes (garage sales, thrift stores, wal mart, etc.), tidying the house, and making sure you get a good lunch and an afternoon nap. Once the weather is good you'll also have the garden to plan and that kind of stuff, but before you know it the baby will be here and you will be glad that you didn't try to cram too much into your days.
Oh, and when you watch that movie in the afternoon, right after your nap, make sure you eat a popsicle or a little ice cream.
Girl, you are in a FANTASTIC position right now because you can do absolutely ANYTHING without the distractions/busyness that kids bring. Although it's tough doing crafty projects while pregnant, you can at least start and stop them whenever you feel like it. If I were in your position, I would read (novels, parenting books, craft blogs), watch movies uninterrupted, browse craft/fabric stores, etc.
Enjoy your freedom! Babies are so wonderful but once they come, your time spent is never quite the same :) Wish I was there to hang with ya!!!
Thanks for the ideas and the encouragment. I'll try to enjoy the next few months as much as possible!
Nap. I'm not even kidding. Cuz once the kid comes, it's all over. Naps will be non-existent, you'll yearn for the days when you could take a nap and wonder why you didn't.
laundry... nap. Read: Harry Potter and the Hunger Games. Both series will suck you in. :)
