Last Hurrah!

So we decided to go to the drive in for one last big date before the baby comes. Last summer we went to the drive in about twice a month and it was one of our favorite things to do. We really wanted to go once this summer before the baby came. Check! We've been checking the listings for the perfect pairing and after waiting a month this pairing came up: X-Men 1st Class and Pirates. Perfect. After 20 minutes of weighing the pros (awesome movies/last big date) with the cons (being out until 2:30am and then having to get up to go to a Stake youth activity at 10am)(doesn't being a responsible grown up suck sometimes?) we pounced on the opportunity last night. After going so many times last summer we have the drive in down to a science. Our car is perfect for the drive in. We put the back seats down, load a futon mattress in the back, pack in some body pillows, bring all sorts of snacks and get comfy. The hatch back is awesome for the drive in because it's super comfortable and if there's a thunderstorm (like there was last night) you don't even get wet at all!

And in order to stay up until 2:30am i fell off the caffeine wagon for one night. That's right after not touching caffeine for 22 months i had one can of Dr. K last night. I guess it kept me up until the movies were over but i didn't really notice a huge difference between having caffeine and not. The baby didn't even act much differently. I am not, however, planning on drinking caffeine all the time like before so don't get excited Brad. :)

We highly recommend the drive in. It's a party and so fun to do by yourself or with friends! And now that we've gotten that out of the way feel free to come anytime baby!

P.S. Complete side note...if someone else who has my due date or any due date thereafter has already had their baby i don't want to hear about it. If it's not me i don't care. Think I'm going to have to tell that to the Young Women at church who have begun telling me about other people who are due in July who have already had their babies. Really I'm to the stage that hearing that makes me angry. That may be pathetic or petty but i don't care.

I loved going to the drive in with you guys! You have the best car ever. :)

PS- Would it make you feel better to hear about someone who was due last week and hasn't had their baby yet? I don't know anyone like that, so this is a purely hypothetical question. I'm mostly just curious.

Hearing about people who have gone a week or more past their due date actually makes me more nervous that the same thing will happen to me. So no that wouldn't make me feel better either. What would make me feel better is if this baby would just come out. I've been telling him i'd cuddle him and that the weather's nice but apparently he's just really comfortable in there. Not cool.

But i suppose that answers your question :)

Not pathetic, just at the end. I distinctly remember looking at every woman with a newborn baby and saying to either myself or Michael, "B*tch got to have HER baby."

And Aidan was 4 days early. AND Carolyn had Alice 10 days early. She's awesome and didn't rub it in, and I didn't think mean things about her, only hoped my baby was as cute as hers (he was!), lol, but SERIOUSLY!!!!

With Asher...well, he had to be induced. I hated EVERYONE. :) Your time is coming, and soon you'll be able to laugh about how miserable you are right now. Promise.

I can't imagine he's all that comfy in there, but he won't know that till he's out, and all kinds of room to stretch...

Melissa i'm so glad i'm not the only one who has ever felt that way!

You're right, Melissa. He was totally as cute as Alice.

The end is hard. It was harder for me with Jack than with Alice, probably because I was so much more excited to have a baby and less nervous about suddenly being a parent. :)
