This week i came back to school and work. It has been so busy and hectic all week for me. Between things being wrong at work and me not being in the office to help fix them a lot of things piled up. I've been working non-stop (not very common) all week at work to get caught up and get back on track. I think we're finally almost there.
School has been a beast too! I missed a test while i was getting better so i had to make that up. I also missed an assignment for my huge group paper. Not a great week to miss but I'm almost caught up with that too. I took the test yesterday and I'll get the assignment done tonight or tomorrow, hopefully. This weekend will be pretty busy with working on the big paper but after that's done i think I'll be all caught up and back to normal.
In other news I'm doing great! My leg is healing well. The whole process wasn't painful at all for me. They prescribed 40 pain pills for me and i only took 4. Seems that the surgery is supposed to be much more painful than it was for me. I'm not complaining :) I figured out the showering thing pretty well. Glad press and seal does wonders, it sticks right to your skin so you don't have to tape it at all!
I'm getting pretty good on crutches and i am only using one now. I actually want to get a cane (much cooler than a crutch). I get pretty tired after a whole day of doing my normal activities but i think I'm getting used to it. For a couple of days my left hip was hurting pretty badly because of all of the work it was doing. I was terrified that i would have to get surgery on that hip next (i actually decided that if i had to i would do it in January). Thankfully, it has stopped hurting. I have started putting more weight on my right leg and that helped. I actually can hobble around my apartment unaided by crutches! Pretty awesome. So I'm getting there.
I had my follow up appointment with the doctor yesterday. He took my bandage off and i got to see the grossness for the first time. It's pretty gross. He said that the surgery was very successful from his point of view. It seems successful to me as far as i can tell. I'm not pain free yet but that's to be expected. There is a big section of my thigh that is still numb but he said that feeling should come back to that. I just have to stay on a crutch/cane for 6 weeks and then I'll be good to go. I can start up climbing and everything again this winter! Yay!
OK so i want to show all who want to see my scar, well it's just stitches with tape over them. So scroll down if you want to see it. If not just stop here. It's kind of gross so i won't be offended if you don't want to see it.
